Canadian Flooring Since 1988
Quickstyle
Context
EN / FR · BilingualQuickstyle is a Canadian flooring manufacturer headquartered in Montreal, producing SPC, laminate, engineered hardwood, and vinyl flooring across 18 collections and nearly 100 individual products, distributed across Canada and the United States since 1988. Their digital presence had become an operational burden: a WordPress multisite running separate English and French installations, product data living in WooCommerce with no actual e-commerce, and a theme accumulated from years of patches.
We were brought in to replace the entire platform with something purpose-built: a system designed around what Quickstyle actually needs rather than tools designed for something else. The constraint was absolute: the finished product had to be a folder of files, handed to the client's IT team for deployment on their private server. No external dependencies, no managed hosting, no special runtimes.
The result is a custom bilingual product catalogue and CMS (built entirely in vanilla PHP with JSON data storage, no database, no framework, no build step) that handles 96 products across 18 collections, bilingual PDF management for installation instructions and sell sheets, and a full admin panel with role-based authentication. Every page is bilingual, every PDF switches automatically based on the user's language context, and the entire system deploys with a single FTP upload.

The Build
Architecture
Zero Dependencies
Vanilla PHP, no framework, no database. The 96 products live in a single products.json file. The collection hierarchy lives in collections.json. The admin reads and writes to these files directly. The entire site, CMS included, is a folder you FTP to any PHP server and it works immediately.
Bilingual
URL-Based Language System
URL-based language routing (/en/ and /fr/) with automatic PDF language switching. When a French user downloads a sell sheet, they get the French version without a second thought. A single codebase serves both languages through shared templates and translation arrays.
PDF Management
One Click, All Products
Three distinct PDF types: Installation Instructions (per-product, bilingual), Sell Sheets (per-collection, bilingual), and a Master Catalogue. Assigning a PDF to a collection applies it to every product in that collection with a single click. Individual product overrides remain possible through a modal editor.
Data Model
Three-Level Hierarchy
8 collection types → 18 named collections → 96 products. This single source of truth drives the mega navigation, explore page, catalogue carousels, breadcrumb system, admin filter tabs, and documents page. Specification data was parsed from 15 Word documents and mapped programmatically: 75 products updated in a single pass.

Client Testimonial
"We had been struggling with our old site for years: managing PDFs manually, fighting with WordPress, keeping two language versions in sync. Octarine built us exactly what we needed: a system that just works, in both languages, without the constant maintenance headaches."
